Capt’n Jack Spareribs does happen to look a lot like that other famous pirate... Captain Jack Sparrow from the Pirates of the Caribbean movie or the ride in Disneyland.  He might even walk and talk a lot like him...

But I guarantee you... There is only one Capt’n Jack Spareribs! This pirate not only wields a sword nicely but also juggling-torches and knives, cannonballs and clubs... Has learned magical powers, clever tricks and mystical illusions and has along the way picked up a crazy crew of miscreants that includes a talking monkey!

Ace Miles has been performing magic professionally since 1976. His career began with performances for corporate parties and picnics in the Silicon Valley. This quickly expanded to include school, church and library shows as well as adding juggling to his list of talents.

In 1978 Ace made his first television appearance on Evening Magazine while working as the resident magician at the Great America Theme Park in Santa Clara, CA. This eventually led to a variety of summer seasons performing both strolling and on stage at the amusement park. Eventually Ace wrote, produced, directed and performed his own themed stage shows for Paramount’s Great America in the late 90’s. His masterpiece being the Indiana Jones spoof “Adventure Ace and the Test of Doom!”. In this fast-paced variety show Ace and his co-star “Tommy the Wonderboy” performed knife juggling, ladder balancing, expert bullwhip stunts and the original, one of a kind, large scale illusion “the Test of Doom”

wpe0bce9d8.png In the early 80’s Ace started studying ventriloquism and soon created the character Dudley the Talking Rabbit. Ace quickly became an expert ventriloquist and Dudley went on to become a huge hit in all of Ace shows. The highlight of the ventriloquism act is an original bit of business called “the Voice Switch”!

Circus Minimus was another original creation that Ace performed for years at festivals and fairs. This show always included his daughters on stage, his wife and friends helping backstage and many guest performers over the years. Some of the guests included: Dean Hankey (illusionist), Steve Chaney (ventriloquist), Christian Fitzharris (from the film Sister Act) and John Gilkey (currently starring in Cirque du Soliel).

Over the years Ace has been seen in numerous television spots and commercials for companies like Toyota and appearances on the Disney Channel, Mornings on 2 and the A&E network’s Good Time Cafe with Ellen DeGeneres. Ace has spent countless hours of practice developing his prestidigitation skills (many of which during high school which were supposed to be for homework). He performs this intimate style of entertainment wherever groups of people gather. From the very first trick he performed for relatives at the age of five, sleights such as card manipulation and coin flourishes to mind reading and “psychic key bending” have always been favorites of Ace’s.
Some of Ace’s strangest skills involve lying on a bed of nails, eating fire, swallowing swords and razor blades, unicycle riding, stilt and rope walking and escaping from straightjackets. And believe it or not, Ace is also an award winning animator and has  animated for Disney, Atari Games, Electronic Arts, Sega and various commercials.
